The Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) lays down in the policy rules how it uses its discretion to define policy. The policy rules cover, for example, standards, arithmetic values, procedures, facts and circumstances, instructions, conditions and restrictions, rate categories, and performance descriptions.
The policy rules are determined on the basis of the Healthcare Market Regulation Act and the Interim Ambulance Care Act.
You can download the current policy rule for ambulance care via the NZa website, together with circulars that explain various points. In 2019, the ‘Policy Rule – Regional Ambulance Service 2019‘ (BR/REG- 187152) entered into force.
